Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in Journalism while a university in China, and recently graduated with my master's degree in Communications from Florida State University. I am fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. When I was in China, I taught English to students there. I passed the TOEFL, and tutored other students on the test, and my tutoring helped them achieve high scores when they took the exam. Now, I tutor English speaking students in the two main Chinese dialects, Cantonese and Mandarin. I have been told I am a fun teacher to work with, and really find enjoyment in learning languages and helping other students learn, as well. In my opinion, a good, trusting relationship between a tutor and their student is one of the requirements to reach success, so I get to know my students' interests and goals, which helps me to encourage them in a more personalized way. In addition to tutoring the Chinese languages, I am available to tutor students in math and in preparing for tests. In my free time, I enjoy movies, cooking, reading, and swimming at the beach.
